How to apply

We have an average of 10 fully funded scholarships per annum. A minimum of 6 of them are reserved for UK Nationals or EU Nationals who have studied for three years in the UK. Full student eligibility information can be found on the EPSRC website (http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/skills/students/help/Pages/eligibility.aspx).  The remaining scholarships can cover EU Nationals.

Overseas / Non-EU applicants are not eligible to apply for funding from the Graphene Technology CDT, but can still join the programme if recipient of external scholarships covering the full costs.

We welcome applications from students with background in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, nanotechnology and engineering. The Graphene Technology CDT offers opportunities to carry out PhD projects in the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Engineering. The PhD degree will be granted from the Department where the research project is carried out.

Interested students should email a CV to and to the Centre Director (Prof. A. C. Ferrari, email:).

Applications should be made through the Graduate Admissions standard form (GRADSAF), which can be found at: www.admin.cam.ac.uk/univ/gsprospectus/applying/.

The Next round of applications for the CDT in Graphene Technology will close on December 15 2017 .

All supporting documents, including references and academic transcripts, must be submitted through GRADSAF before you can be considered for shortlisting/interview. The interviews will be ongoing.  Please email  to inform us once you have submitted your application.
